Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, just give us a call.
Do I need an NDIS plan to use Sydney Supports?
Most of our clients use NDIS funding. If you don't have a plan yet, we can explain how to apply and point you to the right place. You can also pay privately if you prefer.
Who do you work with?
We work with NDIS participants and private clients, who pay us directly. Get in touch and we will sort out the right setup for you.
If you're not registered, are you still regulated?
Yes. All NDIS providers, registered or not, must follow the NDIS Code of Conduct, and you can raise concerns about any provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
How much do your services cost?
Our prices follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, which set the maximum price for most supports. We'll explain the rates for your supports and agree them with you in a written service agreement before we start.
What is a service agreement?
It's a written agreement that sets out which supports we provide, when, how much they cost and how either of us can make changes. You can ask for it in a format that suits you and have someone you trust help you read it.
Can I choose my support worker?
Yes. We match you with workers based on your needs, interests and preferences. If a match isn't working, tell us and we'll find someone who suits you better.
Are your workers screened?
All our support workers hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, plus first aid and the training needed for the supports they deliver.
How quickly can you start?
Often within a week or two of receiving a referral, depending on the supports and times you need. We'll give you a clear timeframe when we call you back.
What areas do you cover?
We support people all over Greater Sydney. See Service Areas.
Can I have both Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?
Usually your plan will fund one or the other. Recovery coaching includes help to coordinate your supports, so it often takes the place of support coordination for people with psychosocial disability. We'll help you work out what fits.
What is your cancellation policy?
We follow the NDIS rules on short notice cancellations. Your service agreement explains how much notice we need and what may be charged. Please let us know as early as you can.
What if I'm not happy with my support?
We want to know. Talk to us or see Feedback & Complaints. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
What if I need help with my plan or funding itself?
Questions about your plan, budget amounts or reviews go to the NDIA on 1800 800 110, or your support coordinator can help.
