Privacy Policy

How Sydney Supports collects, uses and protects your personal information.

This policy applies to Sydney Support Services Pty Ltd, trading as Sydney Supports (ABN 40 660 775 735). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the NDIS Code of Conduct, which applies to all NDIS providers and workers.

What we collect

Information we need to provide safe, quality supports, which may include your name, contact details, date of birth, NDIS number, plan details, health and disability information, support needs, emergency contacts, and details of your nominee, guardian or plan manager. For job applicants, we collect your resume, checks and qualifications. Health and disability information is sensitive information, and we only collect it with your consent or where the law allows.

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you or your representative, and through our referral, contact and application forms. With your consent, we may also collect it from support coordinators, plan managers, health professionals or the NDIA.

How we use it

  • Planning and delivering your supports
  • Service agreements, invoicing and NDIS claims
  • Keeping you and our workers safe
  • Meeting legal and NDIS reporting obligations, including incident reporting to the NDIS Commission
  • Handling feedback and complaints, and improving our services
  • Assessing job applications

Who we share it with

Only people who need it to support you, such as your support workers, plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA, and only with your consent, unless the law requires or allows it (for example, to prevent a serious threat to someone's safety). We do not sell your information and we do not send it overseas except where our secure cloud providers store data, which we choose carefully.

How we keep it safe

We store records securely in password-protected systems with access limited to staff who need it. We keep records for the periods the law and NDIS rules require (generally at least 7 years) and then destroy them securely.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you at any time. We'll respond within 30 days.
